BEST DELI IN SOUTH FLORIDA, for real. Everything I've had here is great. My favorite sub is the Bella Busta. They have Italian cheesecake like nonni used to make, too.

I f you are from NY and miss being able to get genuine high quality deli food then try this place. Everything I've had from there is really good. The Rueben is excellent and so is the chicken parm. One sub can feed two people. Also there are a lot of choices in their freezer to bring home and cook like fresh pasta, etc, along with a good selection of hard to find Italian delicacies.

Wow, Wow, Wow! I was in the neighborhood today which is rare these days but I never forget my 'roots' and had to pay a lil hommage to a piece of my history! E of Federal on Atlantic Blvd has not gentrified itself really at all and I hope it never does! A polish market, a mediterranean deli, an upscale italian restaurant, an italian coffee shop, et al. I can't even remember the first time I visited Bella Monte but every time I go in there, it feels like home. The place is an italian market mixed with a deli. Their sandwiches are vast in their selection and piled high with the freshest sliced meats, cheeses, and condiments. I challenge you to beat their subs! There was a cute couple from out of the country there today who wanted some prosciutto but only had $2 in cash. The guy was joking around and said, "at $34 lb, I can let you smell it!" They case a fresh variety of salad items and italian goodies. You can even buy gelato [pre-packaged but still]! That was such a great way to spend a few moments this morning and would recommend that you experience it too if you've never had the pleasure or if it's been long past time to revisit.

AMAZING SANDWICHES. This place is a textbook Italian deli with a great sandwich selection. All of the ingredients were nice and fresh; each sandwich was loaded with a ton of meat and extremely filling. The first time I went I had the regular Italian sub and it was one of the best I've had. They also have a bunch of signature subs with awesome names like "The Godfather". For the second trip (yes, I was in Pompano Beach for 4 days and went here twice - it was that good), I tried the "Catania", which is roast beef with fresh mozzarella and artichoke hearts. It tasted was even better than it sounds. I would highly recommend this place.

Stopped for a sandwich after diving off Pompano Beach. Read some good reviews so we decided to try it. We split the Venetian for $8.95 and a cannoli for $3.25. The sandwich on ciabatta bread was good and hearty but a bit dry. The cheese was like American cheese and way too dairy, if you know what I mean. The olive paste was good however. Maybe add more of that. Also if you dip the sandwich in olive oil, a la French dip, that may help out. The cannoli was very good. Sugar overload. I don't think I would return. Maybe try somewhere else with all the Italian options in the area.

Had to try Bella Monte after hearing a friend of mine rant about this place making the best subs in town. It's a really cute market with a small but cozy sitting area. It's a typical Italian market you'd find in upstate NY. Nice selections of olive oils, balsamic vinegars and plenty of pasta both homemade and prepackaged. So back to the main reason I stopped by. I ordered a Prosciutto & Fresh Mozzarella w/sun dried tomatoes on a Ciabatta roll w/ drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette drsg. and The Gavone, which included fried chicken, roasted peppers, mozzarella & broccoli rabe on a seeded white sub. Both subs were excellent, tasted fresh and the bread with just right however, neither one had enough meat. Nothing like you'd get in a real NY sub joint. I expected for a $13+ sub I wouldn't have to complain about extra meat. I actually had to scope out some of the bread just even out the meat to bread ratio. I would definitely try it again but next time I'm going to pay better attn to the guy making the sub and less time walking around the store.

Bella Monte is a little more than just a deli. Walking in you get an amazing scent of all the things you associate with an Italian deli: bread, Parmesan, olive oil, a little balsamic. Browsing around you will find many authentic Italian ingredients that may be harder to find other places, and Bella Monte makes their own sauces and even frozen meals you can grab and cook at home later. I made my way up to the deli counter as we were looking to get a few sandwiches on our way to the beach. They have an overhead menu listing the basics, but they also have many more customized sandwiches listed on the counter. I absolutely love sandwiches, but have recently given up meat, meaning that my go to turkey sub is no longer an option. At Bella Monte this is no problem at all. I ordered the Joseph Rocco which has fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, artichoke, mushrooms, eggplant, and tomato. You are given the choice of a wheat or seeded Italian sub roll. I went with the Italian to give myself an authentic experience. We arrived at the beach, and after lounging and working up an appetite in the sun we got out our sandwiches. I was in love. Everything, including the bread, tasted so fresh, and the flavor combo was perfect. The sandwich was huge, and I was only able to eat half...and I think a seagull got some of the veggies that fell out also as they were overflowing. Now the sandwich was definitely amazing, and probably worth giving this place five stars on it's own; however, what really pushed me over the five star threshold was the pickle. I had added a large deli pickle to my order. I adore pickles, they're probably my favorite food, and I have had many, and I have to say I've never had one this big. Yes, I ate the whole thing...probably not great in terms of my salt consumption for the day but totally worth it. Bella Monte is located on Atlantic just before hitting the bridge to get over to A1A and the beach...and it's on the south side of the road, perfect for a quick stop. I would definitely recommend it over Subway or Publix for a beach sandwich. Their subs run mostly around $10...but as I said, easily two meals, and with the quality of the ingredients way worth the price.

Tasty Not many true Italian Delis around anymore. Glad to find a place like this for a good Italian sub. I've only be here a few times, but I like it. You can pick what type of bread you want which includes Italian bread. I love the crust of Italian bread and here they have the real deal. Nice crunch with a soft interior, you just can't beat it. Fresh cut meats some provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and those lovely hot peppers. Finished off with some oregano and oil and vinegar. Tasty! Now and days Italian style food is pretty much American. It's hard for me to call it ethic food, but it is. You can taste the difference if you have their sandwiches on the Italian bread. That separates this place from the Jersey Mikes (probably Italian), LaSpadas (probably Italian) and Subway original owner Fred Deluca (probably Italian). See what I mean Italian is America:)

I love Bella Monte. I've been going for a few years and can not believe that I haven't remembered to give them a review. You want a real sandwich or real authentic italian premade - this is the place! It's a deli that has delicious deli foods and the good fun mojo and karma they give off when serving you is the best - they really are wonderful people. I got the combo sub and my daughter got the ham sandwich - also picked up some chicken Parmesan for tomorrow! Always fresh - consistent and Delicious.

My wife is a discriminating eater, but she absolutely loved the Italian Sub she ordered - destroyed the entire sandwich! Fresh, flavorful, high quality deli meat and cheeses with fresh bread - outstanding!

  • Joseph L.

Fantastic find in Pompano Beach. An Italian Deli straight out of Arthur Avenue. Terrific breads make these sandwiches really first rate. Ask for the Chiabatta bread every time with mortadella my favorite.

  • Ellen C.

Upside: Good place for overstuffed sandwiches and hard-to-find Italian cooking ingredients. Downside: No matter how many timed you go there, owners are never particularly friendly. I am always leaving there asking myself why I give them my business.

  • Ron A.

Friendly family owned place near the intercoastal. I had a Joe DiMaggio on ciabatta and split a cannoli. The sandwich was very good, with "home-made" mootz. The cannoli? Quite possible the best in Florida...close, but just maybe the best.

    (5)
  • Emily D.

it was cute inside and used fresh ingredients. But they gave me american orange cheese and brown mustard even after the employee working there joked with me saying that she ensured that she gave me american white. It was still nice though, they stack their sandwiches fat.

  • Jackie A.

OMG, the Italian subs are to die for. this location is great is close to Pompano Beach so order your sub and watch the waves of the ocean. tons of Italian goodies, it's not just a Deli but a great store. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. I love this place!

  • Charmie P.

Excellent Italian deli, they offer a large variety of Italian staples like olive oils, balsamic vinegar, fresh olives and a lot more. They also have pastas, soups, a deli counter and amazing made to order sandwiches.

  • Rob Y.

I've gone back a few times now and the food is good, the prices are decent, but the lady in there just hates me for some reason. Maybe its because I ordered the wrong thing and had to have it changed (twice)... who knows. Would I go back- most likely, its right across the street from work. Would it be a first choice- no, unless I wanted Italian food that day. I'd recommend it to friends. The atmosphere- its nice, the staff / owners, are like New Jersey Italians that may come off abrasive if you're not used to straight talk :) fortunately, I lived in NYC. Try it, its worth it and they have great products in their store.

Good deli with lots of different sandwiches & subs. Nice selection of Italy's specialities too.

    (5)
  • Susan A.

The sandwiches are fresh and delicious. Other store items "real Italian".Just a great place. However I noticed that people handling deli meats used their bare hands. So each slice of meat, the lettuce tomato etc.were touched by counter person's hands.Gloves need to be worn!

    (4)
  • Mike T.

I have been wanting to go here based on reviews. I just received their menu in the mail today. My rating is strictly based on their prices! The prices are up 30% from 2012 and the pics by Marqus R. (below). I must also note that the prices in New York (which it's quality is compared to) are 30% lower than the current prices here. I don't think I will go and try it at this point. What's up with the prices. Can you just charge what ever you want regardless of everyone else?

Bella Monte is an Italian deli with tables in the front to sit down and eat. You can get lunchmeat sliced or they can make one of their many sandwiches or hear up any of the pre-made foods they have displayed behind the glass case. I ordered an Italian hoagie. The dude who took my order was kind of a jerk to me, but he made up for his jerkiness by making me a killer Italian hoagie. Holy cheet! THIS IS THE REAL THING, Y'ALL! The decor of Bella Monte is very odd, but the food makes up for the weird decor. If you would rather cook up your own italian masterpiece at home, Bella Monte has all sorts of imported goods to make yourself a killer meal.

  • Marqus R.

"Looks like another Italian Sub shop" I said to myself upon approaching its doors, but I couldn't have been more wrong about that. It's much more than that and much more than a mere deli, in that it actually is an Italian store though not what I would call an Italian market. They carry all sorts of oils, infused or otherwise, wines, some fresh meats, aged meats, cured meats, baloney, fresh poultry and a good assortment of wines. Then there a various prepared pasta sauces and other take home ingredients that will turn your at home dinner, wherever you live, into an Italian dinning experience. I had a taste of one of their many sandwich selections and WOW! You can tell that this really is an Italian deli. Plus, and beyond all of that, it's sort of a cool hang out of a place to be.

  • Z T.

I got curious about this establishment after reading the reviews on Yelp. Loved their prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sub with tomato, basil and olive oil! Completely worth the visit to this establishment instead of a Subway, Publix Deli or a handful of other sandwhich shops. I will be going back soon.

My family orders from here all the time since they are right around the corner. They have amazing subs and when we ordered ravioli for Christmas Eve dinner they were perfect when added to my stepmom's homemade sauce. They have so many wonderful things here it would take me forever to try everything but I'm looking forward to trying to eat my way through this underrated deli in a strip mall. Everything is so fresh and so authentic and oh so wonderfully Italian. The staff here is so friendly and tries to get to know every single one of their customers so that they can better help them and they actually remember what you say.

Bella's was the only thing I had to eat 2 days ago, sandwich was great, but diarrhea, fever, and stomach pains the next 48 hours were not. Must've had something to do with making the sandwich without wearing gloves or washing hands. At least they didn't charge an extra .50 cents for the topping of shit particles. Seriously the sandwiches are the best in the area but few food dishes are worth having to squirt like a duck for 48 hrs straight. Eat at your own risk

  • Amanda B.

Salmonella sub. I have never had any stomach virus like this in my life! 4 days later I gained enough strength to ONLY write that "I would never eat here again!" though I do have another choice of words I will not use. This place has officially changed me from being Mrs. NiceGuy, if I EVER see anyone preparing my food without clean gloves [or digging ciabatta bread insides out with their fingers!!!] I WILL walk out! I do plan on calling this gdam establishment and informing them to invest in some hand soap and gloves so hopefully no one else is infected the way we were.

I just ordered my italian ingredients for my antipasto- Best Italian store around! The subs are amazing. The people are great. As a native new Yorker and knowing the difference 5 stars... Enjoy! Lynne Camarco

What can I say? I am now a huge fan!!! The fresh mozzarella, tomato and pepper sub was the absolute best!! And, way too huge for one person! I work around the corner so it's going to be one of my new fav's!! The staff are friendly and helpful with a great sense of humor! They won't be forgetting me...the first time I ordered lunch for the office I spelled my name (because routinely my name is gotten wrong) and by the time I arrived to pick up our order, the entire staff seemed to know who I was! Best food ever!

  • Venus P.

I have been going here for approx. 15 years for the Italian foods and lunch Hoagies. They even have a variety of specialty hoagies that are great! I bring customers here during the day for quick bites to eat and always leave happy. Check it out if in the area.

  • Dave J.

I agree with everyone else, Bella Monte Italian Deli is outstanding. If fact it's the best in the area by far. the huge Subs & Sandwiches are over stuffed on fresh bread. This is so far beyond any chain sub shop, it's pointless to even try to compare. My favorite is the Tuscan ($9): smoked turkey, fresh mozz, lettuce, sundried tomatoes on crusty Italian bread. It's great to grab one of their many subs, put it on ice and hit the beach for the day. Yum. I could go but it would only be redundant. Go to Bella Monte Italian Deli and chow down; just make sure you're hungry. As a side note Bella Monte also carries specialty Italian grocery items, fresh made in store sausage and sides. It's a very cool place in general. Note - credit cards only accepted for amounts of $10+.

Scrumptious Salami! and Mortadella OH MY! I have found what Pompano Beach has been seriously missing. A brilliant Italian deli. Everything I have tried here is good. From the salami to the provolone, roasted red peppers and a fresh mozzarella that actually made me weep from its ever creamy goodness. This place, is a dream unto itself. They make the kind of sandwich that only makes you come back for more. An instant gratification worth writing home about. Well done Bella! I shall definitely be coming back!

  • Dave S.

Great sandwiches (too big to eat in one sitting) and Hot ham Capicolla and cannoli made fresh while you wait.

    (5)
  • Steve L.

Truly nice East-Coast Italian deli & store for all things Italiano. Warm staff, and a constant parade of local characters & chit-chat makes the place feel like family -- maybe not *your* family, but family nonetheless! A jillion variations of generous sandwiches with authentic ingredients; while you're waiting you can browse the store for everything from balsamic to amaretti to gnocci to ridiculous Itailian kitsch stuff, and then take it to go or hang out in a low-key seating area while resuming your people-watching/listening.

    (4)
  • Enrico C.

This place is rad. If you are looking for a sandwich on this side of town, you are screwing yourself going anywhere else, one of the best Italian deli's Iv ever been to. A much better selection of meat, cheese, olive oil and balsamic vinegar than you'll find at any of the grocery stores in the area.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
